Biography : Since 1994 Knucklehead has remained a staple of the Western Canadian Punk scene while steadily gaining a larger audience throughout North America and Europe.
With 7 releases on various Canadian, American and European record labels, hundreds of shows both headlining and in support of international touring acts such as The Misfits, Swingin' Utters, Suicide Machines and Nine Pound Hammer, and 7 North American tours under their belts, Knucklehead has proven that they're here to stay.
Once described as the bastard offspring of a threesome between Youth Brigade, Bad Religion and English Oi! legends Cock Sparrer, Knucklehead manages to blend a variety of influences into their own catchy and cohesive brand of straight-forward Streetpunk. Although most widely appreciated for their pounding rhythms and catchy singalong choruses, the band has also gained considerable recognition for the socio-political views expressed in their songs and their ability to provide commentary without preaching. Reviews : don't just take our word for it, read what the critics are saying about Knucklehead...
»»» "This is the great new voice for Canadian Streetpunk. Great tuneful Punk, with a left leaning message like The Class Assassins or Marilyn's Vitamins. It's like someone took an Oi! band and introduced them to fast aggressive Punk and didn't let them get watered down by the experience. New school Oi! from out west that'll blow you away. It is great to see this scene making a comeback."  (Equalizing Distort)
»»» "Two albums on one disc of this melodic Canadian Streetpunk band. The vocals on the “Little Boots” (their 1998 effort) sound like The GC5 a lot, while the music is catchy, simple sing-along punk. “Voice Among Us” has the singing evolving into something more distinct to themselves, and featuring more interesting melodies applied to the verses and choruses while the songs still retain the sing-along quality of the earlier CD. I swear, some of these songs are so infectious I found myself mumbling along before I even learned the lyrics. Fans of old Dropkick Murphys and Rancid will like this. I do!"  (Rock'n'Roll Purgatory)
»»» "I know people say punk rockers today can't write original shit, but damn if this isn't an exception to that fucking rule. This is strong Streetpunk with great lyrics, sung fantastically! If you hate the rich, consumer culture, TV, Hollywood, power - or hate all that horseshit - buy this fucking record now!"  (Maximum Rock'n'Roll)
»»» "With a swig of whiskey and a Punk Rock battle cry, Knucklehead are soon to be the undisputed Canadian Streetpunk champions. Voice Among Us oozes with glorious singalong, Shane MacGowan-esque vocals & pounding rhythms. While Knucklehead's music serves up an unforgettable dosage of raw melodic Punk, the lyrics dish up some intelligent commentary on the class struggle, empty North American socialisation and a variety of other insightful elements. Voice Among Us is the perfect harmonisation of good old punk rock and politics. Hopefully more people will bear witness to the testimony of Knucklehead."  (Exclaim)
»»» "This Canuck band plays Rancid influenced street hardcore punk. The pace is urgent, the singalong parts are anthemic and the riffs don't get technical - just straight ahead no frills, no bullshit street punk rock!! I can just see hordes of stage diving kids grabbing the mike and a piece of the action!! I also detect a slight Pogues feel in the vocal department, which doesn't sound fake or contrived like a certain Boston band I won't mention. These guys should be on TKO or Hellcat, so that gives you a good indication of what to expect. If you like your hardcore with boots and braces, then you should track this one down." (Fracture)
